The “Queen of Theme” hails from the windy city of Chicago, IL. Sue has
presented over hundreds of classes across the country including Canada,
Mexico, Alaska and the U.K. with creative and imaginative presentations that
will blow you away!
Over the past sixteen years
she has won many awards in various clown competitions in addition to being
presented the “Order of the Pie” and “Way to Glow” awards for her outstanding
teaching abilities. Her enlightening presentations will spark smiles and
enthusiasm that will allow you to open new doors of creativity with your
entertainment and compassion for clowning.
She is a women who wears
many hats on and off the entertainment field. Currently, she is working on
several books that continue the commitment in many new directions of the
special areas of this creative art of clowning.
Her passion is working with
children and senior citizens sharing the art of storytelling. Her award
winning unique tales have made her one of the most recognized upcoming artists
in the Chicago land area. Several unique books written for children, adults
and entertainers are now available and many more are in progress.
Also, because of her unique
creativeness, she is able to customize themes into her clowning entertainment
which has totaled over hundred’s of events each year.
Sue has many outrageous
characters that she performs as and incorporates her music, magic, balloon
twisting, face painting, games, caring clown, storytelling and just plain
silliness in order to make a memorable time for everyone.
Sue has been a long time
member of the World Clown Association, Clowns of America International,
Northern Clown Association, Chicago Guild, West Suburban Clown Troup, Texas
Clown Association and the AATH Organization (Association For Applied &
Therapeutic Humor). In 2002, Sue formed a business along with Jose and Alicia
Elizondo in Monterrey, Mexico called “Projecto Risa” (Happy/Healthy Living).
Both Sue, Jose and Alicia have completed many health and humor workshops in
Monterrey, Mexico which has introduced and opened awareness of hospital and
nursing home clowning in the health care industry. The company has bought the
rights to translate Anita Theis book called the Joyful Journey of Hospital
Clowning into Spanish. This book is the first of its kind in Spanish to help
with the understanding of what health and humor is all about and how it is
applied. All of the attendees are introduced to what a caring clown’s role
is, how to become one, what health and humor is all about and the avenue that
each individual can take.
We all continue to build
friendships and bridge communications for a nation wide connection with humor
through education.
Sue works at many different
local hospitals and nursing homes each month to entertain both the residents
and staff.
Sue currently lives in
Warrenville, IL. and works full time as a clown, storyteller and public
speaker.
