*Aloysius The Rabbit M171-1945, NOW $175.00 |
Manufactured by Clint Reidel & Jim Klein
VERY RARE!
Effect: A red rabbit plaque is removed from inside a
metal "house". This plaque is inserted into a "cell"
and obviously slid to the other side. Now the door
is opened to show the rabbit has vanished. The
second door is also opened to show nothing is there.
The rabbit plaque reappears from inside the house.
This "sucker" effect is repeated, but now when the
rabbit reappears from the house, it has changed to a
while color.
Condition - Very Good

*Coin Wand M171-1949, NOW $350.00 |
Manufactured by Johnson Products
RARE!
I love coin wands, have collected them for years,
probably have collected 30-40
different new and antique wands. The Johnson coin
wand was made back in the
late 70's-early 80's timeframe, and it is the Rolls
Royce of coin wands, no one else
has ever come close to that quality. Porper's wands
are good, but still do not match
the Johnson one that has not been made for about 30
years.
Your other hand does not have to cover or aid the
coin when it vanishes from the
tip of the wand, it also comes with a brass plug,
that allows the wand to be shown
clearly, from either end/tip as a normal wand.
The sliding pin has the proper angle as found on the
old time wands and the coin is
not a folding coin, but a specially gimmicked one
that is correctly soldered in place.
The coin is a 1969 Kennedy Half.
13" in length, includes original velvet carry bag.
Condition is MINT. Operation is very smooth coming
out and going in.
This wand was most likely made by Mike Caveney years
ago during his time at
Johnson.

Large 3.75 inch

Sliding gimmick sounds great.
Beautiful wood

This is really for
collectors of die boxes, It looks great on your
shelf beside your other collections, because of the
beautiful inlaid woodwork on the doors, makes it
very unique, however the shell when in the box,
after the die has vanished from the box, is not well
concealed.
So, I don’t think it is a good performance
piece.
I paid much more

how the shell looked in the box. Box is 10.5 x 5.5 x

| Forgetful Yogi Bear / Card in
Balloon - Warren Hamilton
M991-1798 NOW
$185.00 |
|
Yogi stands 18 inches tall. A card is chosen, yogi
will try to do this trick, however he is about to
lose his head while doing the trick, his head is
removed (ala Forgetful Freddie) and vanished via
devils hank, (supply you own), but no "magician can
do a card trick without a head, so balloon is
inflated, attached to Yogi's shoulder, where is head
should be. Suddenly when you are ready, the
balloon burst and his head is restored, where it
should be, AND he is also now holding the chosen
card!
So what you have is 2 tricks
in one, A forgetful freddie routine and a card in
balloon trick all combined.
I don't know if Warren Hamilton got in to any trouble
over this effect.
Some kids are still familiar with Yogi Bear, he is
shown on Cartoon Network, and still many books
written with Yogi as the star.
There are no instructions
Condition: IN good condition. Item was
not painted, it was a cutout of a picture of yogi
transferred to wood, and then varnished over, so
there is some natural cracking in the picture, but
not noticeable from few feet away, the "cracking
just makes it look antiqued. See photos.

Giddy Guardsman by Billy Day
M241-1940 NOW $150.00 |
Mfrd by Unique Studios Harry Stanley -
No Longer Manufactured
A terrific
children's effect which is no longer manufactured.
All the props are well made in wood and are large
and colorful. They consist of two Guards, a Sentry
Box, a garden wall with two trees, a small comical
looking dog, add to this lots and lots of "business"
plus audience participation and you will see it is a
winner. The magical happenings are too numerous to
detail but it adds up to 15 minutes solid
entertainment
Condition, USED but usable, and can easily be
touched up with a little paint

 |
| Hippety Hop
Barneys M101-1802 NOW $ 385.00 |
|
Hippety Hop Barneys, OH VERY LARGE,
STAGE SIZE, the covers alone are 15.25
inches high, 9.5 inches wide, 1.75 inches
deep. The dinosaur is 15.25 inches tall with
base, and at it's widest point 8 inches.
The dinosaurs
change colors, back and forth between purple
and blue, just like the regular white and
black bunnies of hippety hop rabbits, but
the kicker ending is they change to a boy
and girl.
The shells are made of hard plastic kind of
material, and the dinosaurs are on a nice
hardwood, painting has been done by silk
screening. If this were not Barneys,
and obviously not in trademark infringement,
this would retail easily for $300 plus. You
will not be disappointed in the quality of
this product.
The story
behind this (what I was told): Douglas
Magicland designed these to be made back in
the 80's or
90's, they
commissioned a local craftsman to build
them, high quality. They originally
ordered 12 sets to be made. Either
Barney trademark owners got wind of it, or
Douglas Magicland got nervous and realized
their legal exposure, causing them to cancel
the order.
The craftsman had not completed the full
order, but was stuck with what they had
already built. A friend of mine, got
wind of it and ordered them directly from
the craftsman (Douglas did not want to touch
it). My friend has had them wrapped
carefully and stored under perfect
conditions all these years, and has now dug
them out to sell them.
There were
never instructions made for these, since
they never made their way to Douglas, so I
will include a copy of instructions for
regular Hippety Hop Rabbits.
The flap is of simple design, no magnets.
These are heavy made, they weigh a total of
8 pounds.

Jack and Jill M251-1956, NOW $150.00 |
Manufactured by Jack Hughes
VERY RARE!
Effect; Magician asks the kids "Do you Know the
story of Jack & Jill?" of course they do! the
magician continues "Jack was a little girl, and Jill
was a little boy", of course the kids, point out you
are wrong, after some by play, you acknowledge that
you get confused.
As magician continues story "they went up the hill to fetch a glass of
water", magician displays plaque with a hill and a
well, and of course kids correct you, they went to
get a pail of water.
As Magician continues story, the well plaque opens
up to reveal Jack and Jill. Magician continues story
of how Jack fell down and broke his head, kids
correct you, magician removes Jack's Head, and
continues story, of How Jill laughed at him so hard
she fell down too, and broke her crown too. Magician
removes Her head also.
Magician says, that's a problem, and he tries to put their heads back on,
but he puts them on backwards, then kids correct
him, he takes them off, and puts the heads on the
wrong bodies, "See, I told you Jack was a little
girl & Jill was a little boy!"
After the usual by play magician removes the heads, and states the kids
need to go to the "Head Hospital" So he folds Jack
and Jill back up, and shows the well, and displays
the "Head Hospital", opens the door on the hospital,
puts the heads in there, and closes the door. Say
the Magic Words, reopens the hospital door, and the
heads have vanished, picks up the well, unfolds it
to show the heads have returned!
What is great about this trick, uses a story the
children are familiar with, and does the fun effect
of a forgetful Freddie without the popping of a
balloon, which as we all know does upset some
children from time to time!
Condition - very good, especially considering the
age, still very workable.

|
Prince and the Pumpkin by Supreme Magic
M101-1811 NOW
$150.00 |
Here's a smashing kids' trick - One
which packs flat and small in your bag,
and which looks big and impressive when
set-up in the show.
A very clever principle is used, different to the usual methods
employed during the traditional
Type 'passé-passé', sucker effects.
On display are two colorful Castle
Holders. Holders are in grey, black:,
blue and white. They are varnished for
protection. Holders have a cut out
window right through them. In front of
the holders are two colorful 14" x 10"
cards. One of the cards depicts a wicked
old witch, the other one a Happy Pumpkin
The magician explains how the pumpkin is
really a prince, turned into a pumpkin
by the witch. The witch card is placed
into the castle, and to stop her from
getting out a clip is placed over the
top.
Similarly, pumpkin is placed into the other castle and a clip is
placed over. Telling of tales of the strange
happenings which occur after dark, the magician
partially covers one of the castles with a cloth, so
that the window is obscured
When he replaces the castle on the table, the children see him
craftily turning this around
Magician takes the remaining castle with the witch looking through
the window, and passes this swiftly around his back.
Immediately it is seen that the witch has gone, and there looking
through the window is the Pumpkin. When the castle
on the table is uncovered there is the witch!
The effect is repeated, the witch and
the pumpkin 'repeatedly changing places.
The children
lose no time in telling you that the
pictures are really double-sided. -
There's a pumpkin on the back of the
witch and vice
versa;
Now the cards are removed completely
from their respective castles (which are
seen to be empty, apart from these giant
cards). Magician appears to
misunderstand the children's request to
turn the pictures around. He turns them
upside-down and then back: again.
Finally, he does turn the cards over. On
the back of the witch card is an ugly
frog, on the back of the pumpkin, a
handsome young prince.
Now
what really makes this unusual and a
fooler, is the castles have a hole in
place of the window, so when you pull
the entire cards out of the castle, they
are seeing completely thru the castle,
and out the other side. And the magician
is left with two thin placards depicting
the changed items, takes Hippitty
Hop Rabbits leaps and bounds ahead, and
what's more, the props are far more
colorful, done in the excellent silk
screening that was the signature of
Supreme Props. AND it packs flat and
plays BIG!!!
I
have more than one set of these in my
personal collection,, some had a turn
style leg on the bottom of the castles,
so they could stand upright by
themselves, these do not, and in the
instructions with these they refer to
using the metal stands to support them
on, well these did not have any stands
with them either, so I am including a
set, that are obviously not the original
stands. It should be noted that this
set was probably the improved version
over the set with their own feet, since
the feet were the weakest part of the
entire apparatus, they were forever
falling off, or did not do a very good
job of holding the castles upright, but
using the collapsible stands that is not
an issue.
Prop
is in Very good condition, especially
when you consider their age, And
includes original Supreme instructions
detailing routine, however the original
instructions pages are numbered 1-5,
only page 1 is missing, which is just
the description of the effect, page 2
starts out discussing the working of the
trick, and the detailed routine, however
I will include a copy of the first page
from one of my other sets, so you are
complete.
Also
the original included a 24" cloth to
cover the first castle with, I will let
you supply your own, since you may have
your own preference of colors etc. The
original also included two colored
clothes pins, which are no longer here,
so I will include 2 standard clothes
pins.
